Thomas D. Sims earned his B.A. as well as his M.Acc. in Accounting from the University of Florida in 2003. He earned his J.D. from Emory University College of Law in 2006, where he concentrated on tax law and was awarded the Ernst & Young Tax Achievement Award in 2006. Prior to joining Cohen & Caproni, LLC, Mr. Sims interned in the Atlanta office of Deloitte Tax, LLP as part of its tax consulting group. Mr. Sims currently represents businesses and their owners concerning various aspects of the business, such as structural matters, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other tax planning. Mr. Sims also represents individuals regarding their estate planning and administration needs, as well as estate disputes and IRS controversies. Mr. Sims is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia.
