Walter N. Cohen
is a 1972 graduate of the University
of North Carolina, with a
B.A. degree. Mr. Cohen earned his law
degree from the University of Georgia in 1975 and an LL.M. in Taxation degree from New York University in 1976. After practicing with a law firm in St. Louis, Mr. Cohen returned home to his native Atlanta to practice with a major Atlanta law firm and a mid-sized firm before
starting his own law firm in 1986. Mr.
Cohen continues to represent businesses and their owners in a variety of legal,
tax, and estate and retirement planning matters. Mr. Cohen is a member of the State Bar of
Georgia, the Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar
Association, and the North Atlanta Tax Council.
He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar
Association and as the chair of the Sole Practitioner-Small Firm Section of the
Atlanta Bar Association. He has been
admitted to the United States Tax Court, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and
the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia.
