Albert
Caproni, III earned his B.A. degree from Columbus College (now Columbus State
University) in 1974. Mr. Caproni attended the University of Georgia, where he
earned his law degree (J.D.) in 1978 and served on the Editorial Board of the Georgia
Journal of International & Comparative Law . Following graduation from
law school, Mr. Caproni practiced law with a general litigation law firm while
completing the academic requirements for the C.P.A. exam. Mr. Caproni then
practiced in the tax department of Touche Ross & Co. and earned his C.P.A.
certificate. After earning his LL.M. in Taxation degree from New York
University in 1984, Mr. Caproni practiced with a mid-sized Atlanta law firm,
representing closely-held business owners and their businesses, until he and
Mr. Cohen formed Cohen & Caproni in 1997.
He has been admitted to the United States Tax Court, the 11th Circuit
Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court, Northern District of
Georgia.
Mr. Caproni represents a variety of businesses concerning numerous aspects of the businesses, including structural matters, planning for mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions and tax planning for all aspects of the business. In addition, Mr. Caproni assists individuals with their estate planning and administration needs, including preparation of Wills, trusts and family partnerships, planning for retirement assets and estate tax and probate issues. Mr. Caproni is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the North Atlanta Tax Council, the Atlanta Tax Forum, the Georgia Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
